Rideau Arcott Yarn - Worsted, DK, Sport
This soft and fine yarn is single-sourced from several of our Rideau Arcott ewes - Rose, Ginger, Leila, and Eowyn. It is non-scratchy yarn perfect for baby items or other delicate projects that can be next to skin. One skein is 100 grams. We have a variety of Aran, Worsted, DK, and Sport weights available.
Note: Lily is a Rideau Arcott and East Fresian cross making her wool slightly less fine.
Limited naturally dyed colour options:
· Natural cream
· Light Lilac (dyed with red cabbage)
· Tan (dyed with coffee)
· Purple (dyed with Logwood)
· Gold (dyed with onion skins)
· Goldenrod Yellow (dyed with golden rods)
· Blue (dyed with black beans)
The yarn is milled at Long Way Homestead in St Genevieve, Manitoba.

Note about Natural Dyes:
Our yarn has been mordanted with Alum and has been carefully dyed with plants and natural items we have foraged around the farm. This makes for beautiful, soft natural tones with variations between batches. The process has not harmed the environment in any way, and even when (if ever!) a wool item made from our yarn is thrown out, it will biodegrade and not cause the earth harm. As beautiful as natural dyes are, the colour is not as colour fast as conventional dyes. Please store your yarn out of direct sunlight and when you wash it, do it gently with lukewarm water. Eventually, the colour may lighten. We encourage you to look at it as part of the beauty of natural colours.
